| Free Money Here! |
[Jan. 29th, 2010|08:17 am] |
|
I can't believe how there are some people who are struggling for money or don't have any job, yet I could tell them they are standing on a dollar bill and they are too lazy to take 5 seconds to bend down and pick it up. If anyone wants a free dollar a day just let me know. |

| Cook your food! |
[Jan. 15th, 2010|03:53 pm] |
There has been this trend in fast food restaurants lately to get the food out in the fastest possible manner. Granted the catagory IS "fast" food, but there is still a minimum quality that is to be expected. Sometimes my fries will be limp and soft, obviously pulled early or in places the food still sits in a warmer, it will become dried out or quickly lose its freshness.
Recently I just ordered pizza at Pizza Hut. When I make pizza at home with a simple frozen pizza, I take it out of the wrapper and put it in a preheated oven. The pizza takes around 15 minutes from the time it goes in till its done. So Pizza Hut tells me to come pick up the pizza in 15 minutes. I leave pretty much right away, and from the time I hang up the phone to getting there, it is 11 minutes and my pizza is already boxed up waiting for me. WTF! Of course I get it home and the crust is still rather soft and the cheese is still very oily (it becomes less oily if it is cooked long enough). Luckily for me, I already knew this would happen and preheated my oven when I left so when I got back, I put it into my own 350 degree oven for 15 MORE minutes. NOW it is done and I can eat it. |

| Rubik's Cubes advanced |
[Dec. 28th, 2009|06:21 am] |
I can now solve a Rubik's Cube in about 2 minutes. In addition, the 4X4X4 Rubik's Cube takes me about 7 minutes. The 5X5X5 takes about 10-15 minutes and the 7X7X7 takes about 40 minutes to solve. I still haven't done the 6X6X6. Also the 5x5,6x6 and 7x7 are all V-cubes. I ordered them on www.v-cubes.com. The whole set with shipping from Greece was $125. They are so much faster and easier to work with than the Rubik's brand of cube.

| Two awesome videos |
[Dec. 19th, 2009|02:37 am] |
This first one is a lip dub that was done all in reverse in one shot. Some of the lip syncing is off but still quite good for being done backwards and by high schoolers.
This second video was made by Asians. Cool huh? No srsly, the song kinda sucks but the video is amazing.

| Avatar and a Fox |
[Dec. 18th, 2009|05:57 am] |
I just got back from seeing Avatar on the IMAX in 3D. I got there nearly 1 hour early and it was already sold out. Luckily I did get tickets online earlier that day because I figured it would be packed. Even 45 minutes early my friend Jason and I had to get people to move down and take an end seat. That's not the ideal place for 3D but it would have to suffice and it was still good.
As for the movie, it is about a military operation to get the Na'Vi people to move out of their tree home so that the way could be paved to dig for an expensive mineral. The science department came up with a way to send someone out to look like a Na'Vi and fit in with them. The movie was visually stunning but the story was rather average. It fit the total formula of a movie I've seen a million times. If you want to know that formula, I'll tell you over a PM.
General Rating 7/10 -- Better than average movie but still not great Furry Rating 10/10. -- This movie will appeal to furries because of the characters and concept of being an Avatar. I can't imagine a single furry not liking this movie.
-----------------
Speaking of movies that furries will like, I give you "The Fantastic Mr. Fox". Normally I'm not too big on stop motion animated movies, but I like many Wes Anderson movies and of course it's a furry movie so I'm going to see it. It is about a fox who promises his wife that he will give up stealing chickens and go into another line of work. However, he still has it in him for one last job. It's hard to explain how good this movie is to the average person because the story is so simple sounding, but every character you just can't get enough of watching. I've seen this movie TWICE which is a big achievement for me and I could see it again and again and be just as entertained.
General Rating -- 9/10 -- A great movie that can stand the test of time for all audiences Furry Rating -- 10/10 -- A perfect furry movie (even though there weren't any raccoons, probably because they would upstage the foxes =P) |

***Furry interview****
http://aiden-raccoon.livejournal.com/66200.html
In light of some current discussion about furries in the media, I've been asked to repost the link to my radio appearance on the Tom and Lisa Morning Show. This is the link to my original post so you can still read the introduction as to who the hosts are and what was happening on the show that day so you won't be lost on some of the things going on. The link to download the zip file is on that journal entry. |

| A lot of charity work |
[Dec. 3rd, 2009|05:14 pm] |
Ok so it isn't charity like you might think but I've been bailing out many furs lately of dire situations.
Start at MFF. I made friends with a fur from Denver, celanor. On his road trip to MFF his car engine threw a rod and basically blew up. Luckily this happened about 30 miles into Illinois near Iowa. Well I drove the 100 miles to get him, and the 3 others in the car, Ping, Silver Pup, SLVR Wolf as well as nevermint's 6 fursuits and driving them all to the con. They lost their car and had to find separate ways back to Denver after the con was over. I also had to help a couple of them run some bank errands during the con and I didn't get quite as much of a con experience because of it. However, such an event in of itself is a unique con experience even though I didn't get much fursuiting time.
After MFF esopusdragon realized he booked his flight time on Tuesday rather than Monday so I let him come over after the con and spend the night at my place while I went off to work and then drove him to the airport the next day.
Last Sunday, I got a bunch of texts to come and pick up a fur (name withheld) from a party. His ride was under a strong influence and after I picked him up, he was obviously distraught from whatever was happening there and I gave him a ride back home which was into the city (I live in Elgin). Actually we went around a few places and I treated him to some dinner and showed him the ropes in getting free stuff :P.
Today, I am helping a fur paw_paul move. Paw sprung this on me earlier this week that he is making the ill advised move to fucking Maine to live with his girlfriend. Yes, the state of Maine. He'll have no job and no source of income upon moving and neither will his girlfriend. They are moving in with her grandmother. Now he says he's going to get a job, but I don't like this move one bit. I give him 6 months maximum there before he is crying to move back. For now though, I am off to go help him pack his shit. |

| Writer's Block: Name that tune |
[Dec. 1st, 2009|11:01 am] |
I love the TMNT:Coming Out of Their Shells Tour soundtrack. My favorite song on there is "Count On Us". I must have heard this song literally 500 times or more over the past 18 or so years and still love it just as much as day one. It reminds me of the turtles and particularly Donatello who I am IN LOVE with. So I don't think I could ever get tired of that song. |

| Rubik's Cube |
[Nov. 12th, 2009|11:33 am] |
|
For about a month now I've been practicing my 3X3 Rubik's Cube. I got down the basics of it really well and can solve it under 2 minutes consistently now. I recently got a 4X4 Rubik's Cube Revenge and a 5X5 Rubik's Cube Professor and the first couple times solving it took me a couple hours but I can do the 5X5 in about 40 minutes, though I still need to refer to my notes for the two parity error algorithms. I could do it a lot faster if the thing would turn worth a damn. Maybe I'll invest in a V-Cube which seems to turn much easier. The 4X4 Cube is a bit tougher than the 5X5 and it seems there are more steps to solving the frequently occurring parity errors. My next step is taking on the 7X7 V-cube. |

| I has candy |
[Nov. 1st, 2009|03:23 pm] |
Yesterday I went out trick or treating with one of my co-workers and her two kids. Why even bother with a halloween costume if you're just going to wear a coat over it LOL. I got there around 4:30 in suit (I can drive with it on minus the head) and they had just gotten started so just as I was about to leave to go find them, some kids came up and thought I lived at the house where I was parked so they trick or treated me but I told them that I was also trick or treating and hadn't gotten any candy yet. Well, their bags were full and just loaded me up before I even moved. Ha! A full bucket of candy before knocking on one door. Anyway, I trick or treated for 3 hours and filled 2 more buckets of candy. What's cool about trick-or-treating with kids is that you can have a swap meet after its over. They give me their adult candy like Almond Joy and Mounds and I give them all my tootsie rolls and suckers because they liked them better. Then I ate a ton of Domino's pizza, watched the rest of the NYY/PHI game and played some Beatles Rock Band before going home and almost immediately falling asleep. I've got a plastic grocery bag filled to the rim with good halloween candy.
Not one person ever said I was too old or shouldn't be out. Nearly every door I went to we were held up for a moment by the person wanting to squee at my 'costume' and telling the rest of his/her family to come look. Everyone was excited for me to be there. I can tell you plenty of events where fursuits most definitely do not belong but we do them anyway, but here's an event where fursuits do belong and I get flack for wanting to do it because its "for the kids". |

| Writer's Block: Seeing stars |

This one is SOOOOO easy. I would date Donatello from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in a second. My obsession with Donatello is probably not healthy but I dun care. |

| This Is It |
[Oct. 30th, 2009|01:53 am] |
Tonight I saw "Michael Jackson's: This Is It". The movie is basically a look at his final tour that never came to be, This Is It. The film shows various songs and how it was going to look on stage. There is some rehearsals. They also show many of the stage surprises and also some impressive remotes that were shot for the backgrounds.
The first half of this movie was really good. They showed how the choreography and performances came together and I was impressed with just how much Michael was in charge of entertaining an audience. Half way through, however, the movie hits a brick wall. There is just basically Michael on stage going over some material for the rest of the movie. They try to fit most of the popular songs but they could have cut out about 20-30 minutes and it still would have held up well.
6/10--- 8/10 on the first half, 3/10 on the second half
Even though my rating isn't very high, I recommend everyone who has ever liked a Jackson song to see this movie. I'm not even a Michael Jackson fan but I came out of the theater glad I saw it. |
